I was born and raised in the GRANITE CITY, AND EDUCATED IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ABERDEEN. GIVEN i’ve never really left the city, I LIKE TO THINK I KNOW A THING OR TWO ABOUT IT.
I HAVE A BACKGROUND IN THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY, WORKING AS A PIPING ENGINEERING CONSULTANT. THIS REQUIRES COMPLETE ATTENTION TO DETAIL, TIME MANAGEMENT AND EFFECTIVE COLLABORATION WITH CLIENTS. ACTING AS A CONSULTANT HAS ALLOWED ME TO UNDERSTAND THE PROCESSES AND REQUIREMENTS OF OWNING A BUSINESS ALREADY. ALL OF THESE SKILLS HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY USEFUL THROUGHOUT MY PROPERTY JOURNEY.
GROWING UP WITH A FAMILY INVOLVED IN PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT, AND THEN HAVING COMPLETED THE SELF BUILD OF OUR OWN HOME, I DECIDED TO PUT THE COCKTAIL OF ALL THE SKILLS I’D OBTAINED TO THE TEST AND ESTABLISH A PROPERTY INVESTMENT COMPANY.
HOWEVER I’M A COMPULSIVE LEARNER (AND QUITE RISK AVERSE), SO I DECIDED THAT THERE WAS PROBABLY A DECENT CHANCE THAT I DIDN’T IN FACT KNOW IT ALL AND I’D HAVE SOMETHING TO GAIN BY ATTENDING PROPERTY TRAINING COURSES, MASTERMIND EVENTS AND PROPERTY RELATED NETWORKING EVENINGS AS WELL AS FORMING PROPERTY MENTOR RELATIONSHIPS. THIS HAS ENABLED ME TO GATHER AN EVEN BROADER KNOWLEDGE BASE OF ALL THINGS PROPERTY.
